Candled at Lewtrenchard Manor Christmas Fair
Lewtrenchard Manor is one of the most popular and prestigious family run luxury hotels in Devon. Nestled in a secluded valley beneath Dartmoor’s wild tors, and virtually untouched by time, the Manor is located in a magnificent setting. Steeped in history, this Jacobean manor dates back to the early 1600s and is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break, away from the modern world, in beautiful surroundings.In 1988, Sue and James Murray and their young family made Lewtrenchard their home and created the hotel it is today. The hotel is now owned once again by the Murray family after nine years away, and Lewtrenchard Manor continues to impress and inspire its guests.
On 7th November, we were lucky enough to attend the wonderful, ‘MRS MURRAY’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR’ in aid of the deserving charity Devon Air Ambulance.
Lewtrenchard Manor is a stunning venue, deep in the countryside but still near to Okehampton, situated on the northern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, Okehampton is a lovely old market town. The town is home to the wonderful, picturesque Okehampton Castle, which dates back to the Domesday Book and sits in an elevated position above beautiful woodland walks where the West Okement River runs. The Castle was first started just after the Norman Conquest, with a moat, as a Motte and Bailey castle. FIND OUT MORE
